Mexico: The Government of the President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, declared this Tuesday national mourning for three days for the victims of the collapse of two subway cars in Mexico City, which left 25 dead and about 79 injured, reports Cubasí.

The decree signed by the Mexican president was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation and stipulates the raising of the national flag at half-mast.

Likewise, he stressed that, “in the face of the aforementioned tragedy, the Federal Government expresses its solidarity and deep pain towards the deceased and injured persons, as well as their respective families.”

The Mexico City Prosecutor’s Office, in a message published Tuesday night on its Twitter account, updated to 25 the death toll from the accident that occurred on Monday night in the eastern part of the Mexican capital.

The Attorney General’s Office of Mexico City reports that all the bodies of those who died after the unfortunate events that occurred on Line 12 of the Metro have been identified and made available to their families, the agency indicated in its tweet.

The head of Government of the capital, Claudia Sheinbaum, informed for her part that it will be the Norwegian company TNB that will be in charge of carrying out an expert opinion, in order to find responsible for the accident, the worst that the Metro Collective Transport System has registered in its story.
