Cuba: At midnight yesterday, June 18, 32 thousand 334 patients were admitted, 6 thousand 684 suspects, 17 thousand 771 under surveillance and 7 thousand 879 confirmed active, according to information published in the official website of the Cuban Health Ministry (MINSAP).

For COVID-19, 30,575 samples were studied, resulting in 1,472 positive samples. The country accumulates 4 million 764 thousand 638 samples made and 166 thousand 368 positive.

Of the total number of cases (1,472): 1,411 were contacts of confirmed cases; 23 with a source of infection abroad; 38 without a specified source of infection. Of the 1,472 cases diagnosed, 754 were female and 718 male.

36.4% (536) of the 1,472 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 79 thousand 686, which represents 48.0% of those confirmed to date.

The 1,472 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (248), from 20 to 39 years old, (454), from 40 to 59 years old (507) and over 60 years old (263).

Of the 166,368 patients diagnosed with the disease, 7,879 remain hospitalized, 7,723 of them with stable clinical evolution. 1,148 died (16 in the day), two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, there were 1,325 discharges on the day, 157 thousand 285 recovered patients accumulate (94.5%). 156 confirmed patients, 64 critically ill and 92 critically ill, are cared for in intensive care.

Until June 18, 190 countries and 30 territories with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 178 million 392 thousand 731 (+ 393 thousand 286) with 11 million 604 thousand 838 active cases and 3 million 861 thousand 914 deaths (+ 9 thousand 638) for a fatality of 2.16 (=).

In the Americas region, 71 million 469 thousand 831 confirmed cases (+ 177 thousand 139) are reported, 40.06% of the total cases reported in the world, with 7 million 617 thousand 23 active cases and 1 million 870 thousand 597 deaths (+ 4,793) for a fatality of 2.62 (=).
