Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Monday 11 deaths and 1,561 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 169 thousand 365 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at the close of yesterday 33 thousand 764 patients were admitted, of them 7 thousand 238 suspects, 18 thousand 162 in epidemiological surveillance and 8 thousand 364 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country carried out 29 thousand 281 samples the day before for an accumulated of 4 million 825 thousand 077 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,561 patients, 551 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,434 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 50 have a source of infection abroad and in 77 people the source of contagion is unknown and one thousand 511 natives.
Of the total confirmed, 736 are male and 825 female. Regarding the age groups, 307 under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and 273 in pediatric ages (15 under one year). There are 1,313 hospitalized assets. In the ages 19 to 39 years, 506 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 511 cases and 237 people over 60 years of age.
