Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 65 deaths on Friday and 6,460 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a cumulative 269,546 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 67 thousand 993 patients were admitted, of them 18 thousand 236 suspects, 6 thousand 323 in epidemiological surveillance and 43 thousand 434 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 47 thousand 356 samples the day before for a cumulative of 5 million 765 thousand 259 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 6,460 patients, 626 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 6,370 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 40 have a source of infection abroad and in 50 people the source of contagion is unknown. 6,420 cases are autochthonous natives.
Of the total confirmed, 3,100 are male and 3,360 female. Regarding the age groups, a thousand 178 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and a thousand 78 in pediatric ages (61 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 1,850 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2,177 cases and 1,255 people older than 60 years.
