Beijing: China condemned the recent sanctions imposed by the United States against Russia, calling them unjust and also an expression of their hegemonic thinking, Radio Reloj reports.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin deplored that Washington uses the alleged poisoning of government opponent Alexei Navalny and the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project as pretexts to impose punitive measures on Russia.
‘The hegemonic thought and conduct of the United States goes against the will of the peoples and the international community must reject it,’ he said.
As part of the new sanctions package, the White House will restrict imports of certain Russian firearms, equipment and nuclear technology for one year starting on September 7th.
