Mayabeque, Cuba: In the Liliana Dimitrova Horticultural Research Institute, located in Quivicán, a plant to process different types of dry condiments and spices that will be sold in the territory will soon come into operation.

In the materialization of the initiative, the specialists of the center and officials of the Municipal Administration Council collaborated. This is one more strategy to achieve the desired food sovereignty from the productive chain.

The researcher and head of the project, Rafael Daroncele Langet, said that they worked intensively to obtain quality seeds to achieve a preparation that meets national and international standards.

When the seasonings and spices are dry, the plant will process each aromatic plant either in powder, grains or leaves, subjected to grinding without losing its properties.

At the Liliana Dimitrova Horticultural Research Institute they work together with local farmers to promote the planting of these crops and guarantee the raw material.
