Mayabeque, Cuba: Dania Ravelo Batista promotes food production at the Credit and Service Cooperative (CCS in Spanish) Porfirio Álvarez, from the municipality of Güines.

“It is hard work, but we assume it and comply with the 63 measures aimed at agriculture, taking into account the current economic situation,” Ravelo Batista said.

From these lands the peasant woman puts all her effort into raising animals and tilling the land. Bananas, beans and tomatoes are harvested in the plots, and they also have an area dedicated to livestock in the CCS.

The delivery of milk to the industry constitutes a priority as well as the obtaining of food, a prevailing challenge in these times.

Dania knows well how important it is to contribute to the Food Sovereignty Program in the country.
