Russia ready to open new humanitarian corridors in Ukraine.

Moscow: The Russian military authorities assured their willingness to establish a ceasefire today to open humanitarian corridors from Kiev, Chernigov, Sumy, Kharkiv and Mariupol, as well as in other cities in agreement with the Ukrainian side, Prensa Latina publishes.

The head of Russia’s National Center for Defense Control, Colonel General Mikhail Mizintsev, indicated that the decision will be applied given the humanitarian situation “caused by the outrages and anarchy of the nationalists, as well as to guarantee the safety of civilians and foreign citizens.?

According to the also head of the headquarters for the coordination of humanitarian aid in Ukraine, the Russian forces declare a ceasefire in those cities from 10:00 local time, and from that moment they will be ready to provide humanitarian corridors.

The Russian Defense Ministry said that this information was sent to the Deputy Prime Minister of Ukraine, Irina Vereschuk, for the coordination of the logistical details of the transfers.

The statement calls on the Ukrainian counterpart to provide security guarantees on the declared routes of the humanitarian operation.

Russia began a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, after the authorities of the self-proclaimed people’s republics of Donetsk (DPR) and Lugansk (PRL) requested help to repel Kiev’s aggression.

Previously, Moscow recognized the independence and sovereignty of both territories and signed treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with their leaders, which included the establishment of diplomatic relations and military aid.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a televised speech to report on the start of the operation, stated that the goal is to protect the population of Donbass from abuses and genocide by Kiev over the past eight years and to ?demilitarize? Ukraine. According to the Russian Defense Ministry, the attacks are not directed at the Ukrainian population or cities, but rather at military targets and infrastructure.
