Cuba: At midnight yesterday, March 9, a total of 7,327 patients were hospitalized, 4,965 suspected, 37 under surveillance, and 2,325 confirmed active.
For COVID-19, a total of 11,203 samples were carried out for surveillance on the day, with 561 being positive. The country has accumulated 13,195,878 samples carried out and 1,075,030 positives.
Of the total cases (561): 549 were contacts of confirmed cases; 4 with a foreign source of infection; 8 with no specified source of infection. Of the 561 diagnosed cases, 302 were female and 259 male.
5.4% (30) of the 561 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 145,391, which represents 13.5% of those confirmed to date.
The 561 diagnosed cases belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (128), 20 to 39 years old (149), 40 to 59 years old (154), 60 and over (130).

Of the 1 million 075 thousand 030 patients diagnosed with the disease, 2 thousand 325 remain hospitalized, of them 2 thousand 312 with stable clinical evolution. There are 8,502 deaths (no deaths were reported on the day), lethality of 0.79% vs 1.34% in the world and 1.78% in the Americas; two evacuees, 57 returned to their countries, on the day there were 569 discharges, accumulated 1 million 064 thousand 144 recovered patients (99.0%). 13 confirmed patients are treated in intensive care, of which 5 are critical and 8 are seriously ill.
As of March 9, 192 countries and 32 territories have been reported with cases of COVID-19, amounting to 450 million 675 thousand 274 confirmed cases (+ 2 million 051 thousand 082) with 59 million 843 thousand 795 active cases and 6 million 039 thousand 087 deceased (+ 9 thousand 213) for a lethality of 1.34% (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 150 million 364 thousand 154 confirmed cases (+ 170 thousand 126) are reported, 33.36% of the total cases reported in the world, with 28 million 380 thousand 724 active cases and 2 million 683 thousand 380 deceased (+ 2 thousand 895) for a lethality of 1.78% (-0.01).
