Cuba confirms 518 positive patients for Covid-19.

Cuba: At midnight  yesterday, March 8, a total of 7,198 patients were hospitalized, 4,828 suspected, 37 under surveillance, and 2,333 confirmed active.

For COVID-19, a total of 10,727 samples were carried out for surveillance on the day, with 518 being positive. The country accumulates 13,184,675 samples carried out and 1,074,469 positives.

Of the total cases (518): 503 were contacts of confirmed cases, 8 with a source of infection abroad and 7 without a specified source of infection. Of the 518 diagnosed cases, 1,288 were female and 1,230 male.

9.3% (48) of the 518 positive cases were asymptomatic, accumulating a total of 145,361, which represents 13.5% of those confirmed to date.

Of the 518 diagnosed cases, they belong to the age groups: under 20 years old (100), 20 to 39 years old (150), 40 to 59 years old (147), 60 and over (121).

Until March 08, 192 countries and 32 territories with cases of COVID-19 are reported, amounting to 448 million 624 thousand 192 confirmed cases (+ 1 million 310 thousand 862) with 59 million 729 thousand 168 active cases and 6 million 029 thousand 874 deceased (+ 6 thousand 901) for a lethality of 1.34% (-0.01).

In the Americas region, 150 million 194 thousand 028 confirmed cases (+ 123 thousand 644) are reported, 33.48% of the total cases reported in the world, with 28 million 657 thousand 732 active cases and 2 million 680 thousand 485 deceased (+ 2 thousand 510) for a lethality of 1.78% (=).
