China reports a resurgence of Covid-19.

China: Chinese authorities reported the first two deaths from Covid-19 in more than a year without deaths, both in the northeastern province of Jilin, as the country faces its worst spike in cases since the start of the pandemic, the National Health Commission reported.

Radio Reloj reports that the deaths were the first recorded in the Asian nation since January 26 of last year and more than 4,000 new cases were reported on Friday and as many on Saturday.

The country where the new coronavirus was known at the end of 2019 has kept the pandemic under control, hence the concern about this resurgence of the disease.

Tens of millions of people are currently under stay-at-home orders across China to try to quell the outbreak, which threatens to spread.
