Violencia armada crece en Estados Unidos.

United States: The United States has recorded 107 mass shootings so far this year, amid an increase in armed violence that this weekend alone left eight dead and 60 injured in nine incidents, Prensa Latina reports.

The Gun Violence Archive research group reported that one such incident occurred during a car show in Dumas, Arkansas, where one person was killed and at least 27 were injured, the most since in 2019 a shooter opened fire in shopping malls in Odessa and Midland, Texas.

The CNN television network, citing data from the Police, reported that around two-thirds of the most populous cities in that country reported an increase in homicides in 2021 compared to the previous year, and a dozen cities established maximum figures for murders, most committed with a firearm.

The Joseph Biden administration is trying to take action to stop what the president calls “the epidemic that is bleeding the country dry.”

However, there is strong opposition from the National Rifle Association (NRA), the oldest civil rights organization in the United States that defends the right to own guns.
