Mayabeque, Cuba: The municipality of Güines steadily increases the number of cases infected with the Omicron variant of Covid-19.
According to the deputy director of hygiene and epidemiology, Dr. Ana Leidis Leal Trujillo, an increase has been observed in recent days despite the fact that we maintain stability.
?In the last week, the locality diagnosed 47 new cases with the greatest incidence in the Luis Li Trigent polyclinic. The same protocol is maintained, the respiratory rooms in the two polyclinics and in the hospitals where the patients who arrive are tested for antigen and if they are positive, a sample is taken for PCR?, Leal Trujillo said.
“If the patient does not suffer from any pathology, he is admitted for 14 days at home, with daily follow-up by the family doctor”, she explained.
In recent days in this territory of Mayabeque, they prioritize epidemiological control and surveillance, actions and protection measures, as well as compliance with established medical protocols and raising the perception of risk in the population.
“In the event that the patient presents signs of alarm or suffers from any disease, he is coordinated for his transfer to the isolation centers set up in the province for treatment and surveillance,” said the deputy director of hygiene and epidemiology.
