Organización Mundial de la Salud recomienda producción local de vacunas y mejorar sistemas sanitarios.

Switzerland: The director general of the World Health Organization, Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, stressed that the SARS-CoV-2 virus is far from being the last of the pandemics and recommended actions to face future contingencies, Radio Habana Cuba reports.

During a speech at the World Summit of Governments, the official highlighted the need to stimulate the local production of vaccines, mainly in low- and middle-income nations, which would favor their autonomy.

He also spoke out in favor of strengthening the foundations of the health system, a source for solid primary care, which is responsible for detecting possible outbreaks in their early stages.

The third of his recommendations dealt with the urgency of building an improved global architecture for pandemic prevention, preparedness and response.

The WHO leader estimated that no country or organization is capable of facing a contingency of the proportions caused by Covid-19 on its own. (YDG)
