China: A team of international specialists led by the World Health Organization (WHO) arrived in the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the coronavirus was first detected, to conduct an investigation into the origins of the virus that caused the pandemic.
The mission is made up of experts from the United States, Australia, Russia, Germany, Japan, the United Kingdom, the Netherlands, Qatar and Vietnam, Radio Rebelde reports.
The group is led by Peter Ben Embarek, the WHO’s leading expert on animal diseases transmitted to other species, who was already in China last July on a preliminary mission.
