Cuba reports 32 new samples positive for Covid-19

Havana: At midnight Friday, Cuba reported 32 new cases of COVID-19, for a cumulative of 4,298 since last March; 83 medical discharges and no deaths, the national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) Dr. Francisco Durán García, reported in a press conference, Cubadebate publishes.

The highest number of samples to date was studied: 6,007, of which 32 were positive. The country accumulates 426,280 tests carried out; of them, 4,298 positive.

Durán García specified that tests from all provinces were analyzed, especially Artemisa (140), Havana (4 588), Mayabeque (136), Matanzas (389), Villa Clara (104), Ciego de Ávila (205) and Santiago de Cuba (150).

The 32 cases diagnosed were Cuban, one has a source of infection abroad and 31 are autochthonous, 24 are contacts of confirmed cases and in seven the source of infection could not be specified, 18 were female and 14 were male, 14 were asymptomatic.

Four patients are reported in critical condition and 18 in serious condition.

Until September 4, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 26 million 335 thousand 685 (+ 276 thousand 620) and 869 thousand 209 deaths (+ 5 thousand 674) for a lethality of 3.30 % (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 13 million 885 thousand 026 confirmed cases (+ 122 thousand 037) are reported, 52.72% of the total cases reported in the world, with 481 thousand 168 deaths (+ 3 thousand 263) for a fatality of 3.46% (-0.01).
