Mayabeque, Cuba: Public Health professionals in this province prioritize the care of patients admitted at the Isolation Center for contacts, located in the Faculty of Medical Sciences of this province, taking into account the biosafety protocols of the treatment of people linked to confirmed cases or other groups exposed to risks of contagion with the pandemic.
Doctor Ledy Iruela, in charge of the center said: “today we have a total of 80 patients, we perform the PCR on the dates established by the schedule and the indicated protocol, and as the results are negative or positive, we proceed as appropriate “.
The purpose is to minimize the risk of contact through the implementation of protection measures to prevent the spread of Covid-19, an emerging infectious disease with high transmissibility, morbidity and mortality.
The nursing advisor in the Provincial Directorate of Public Health, Danailys González, argued: “every 8 hours the vital signs are taken and the nurses check the temperature and the appearance of signs or symptoms of the disease.”
