Mayabeque, Cuba: The agriculture in Batabanó advances in the sowing of crops planned for the cold season, a priority for the country today.
Taking into account that during this period 60 percent of next year’s food is guaranteed, the local authorities carry out a rigorous control of the sector’s resources.
The Mayor of the municipality, Raudel García Mederos, highlighted the need to resume the cultivation of seeds that are more resistant to pests, especially in beans, to increase production.
The manager emphasized that for next October 3, in greeting to the Day of the Agricultural Worker, cooperatives and outstanding producers will be encouraged for contributing to the arduous task of producing food for the people.
