The work of Cuban science in confronting Covid-19 can already be described as a colossal feat. Our scientific community puts knowledge in terms of health, a premise of revolutionary Cuba, only this time marching against the clock and facing death.
In these months, the results have been commendable, increasingly effective medical treatments, a reduction in deaths and critically ill and seriously ill patients, a high percentage of cases cured, and research continues to reduce vulnerabilities and prevent the population from the virus. The Soberana-01 vaccine, which is already in clinical trial, is an example of this.
The efforts of our scientists in the midst of serious limitations and obstacles imposed by the intensified blockade of the United States in the face of this circumstance make their feat even greater.
Scientists who are not fooled by siren songs, nor have a price, Cubans highly committed to their people and to the main right of a human being, which is life.
That is what makes this small country great, its will, its dedication, its faith in victory and its infinite love for the human being. Cuba continues to teach the world lessons.
