Every October 6, the same story is repeated, the condolences, the floral offerings and the memory and immense pain of the first day when 73 innocent people lost their lives in a Cubana Airliner plane that fell into the sea, victim of a vile attack terrorist.
That sad October 6, 1976, 57 Cubans, 11 Guyanese and 5 Koreans, were left without life in a few minutes of agony and despair and in a few days it was known that it had been an act of sabotage, who its material and intellectual authors were, and that behind them, encouraging and paying them, was the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).
By planning and executing the murder of the crew and passengers of the Cuban plane, among which were workers, students and athletes of the youth fencing team, who carried out tasks assigned by the Homeland with modesty and dedication abroad, they tried to terrorize our people .
But, they were wrong, once again, neither that abominable crime, nor the most brutal aggressions have been able nor will ever be able to kill ideas for freedom, justice, the honor that guides the struggle of the Cuban people, much less stop the victorious march of our Revolution.
There are plenty of reasons that 44 years after the Crime of Barbados, the sons of the Bearded Cayman continue to demand justice for this and others, who have caused so much pain to our people. We join that voice that from history announced that when an energetic and virile people cry, injustice trembles!
