Mayabeque, Cuba: The Maritime Transport and Port Operations Business Group (GEMAR by its Spanish initials) reported that due to adverse hydrometeorological conditions the maritime transportation of passengers and cargo between the ports of Batabanó, in Mayabeque, and Nueva Gerona, on the Isle of Youth is suspended, from 00:00 hours tomorrow, November 4, Radio Reloj reports.
These conditions affect safety for navigation during the crossing and berthing in the ports of Batabanó, Gerona and Cayo Largo del Sur.
In an informative note, GEMAR states that the Practicos de Cuba and Navegación Caribe companies are in contact with the Institute of Meteorology, to report on the restoration of these services to the population, which will depend on the improvement of the meteorological situation.
In addition, the Viajero reservation company will apply the approved procedure for these cases and maintains close communication with passengers.
According to the text, when transportation is restored, passengers with reservations who could not receive the service during the days of suspension will be given priority attention.
Likewise, those who do not wish to travel will have the right to a refund of the 100 percent of the value of the ticket up to 15 days after the restoration of the trips.
