Cuba Confirms 40 New Positive Cases for Covid-19

Havana: At midnight yesterday, November 4, 956 patients were admitted for clinical epidemiological surveillance, 634 suspects, 1,616 and 551 confirmed under surveillance, the MINSAP website publishes.

For COVID-19 8,999 samples were studied, resulting in 40 positive samples. The country accumulates 883 thousand 701 samples carried out and 7 thousand 184 positive (0.81%).

Of the 40 diagnosed cases, all are Cuban and autochthonous, thirty-six were contacts of confirmed cases and four without a specified source of infection, fifteen are women and 25 men. 82.5% of the positive cases were asymptomatic.

By province, the cases are from Pinar del Río 34, Artemisa 1, La Habana 1 and Sancti Spiritus 2.

Of the 7,184 patients diagnosed with the disease, 551 (7.6%), 545 (98.9%) with stable clinical evolution remain confirmed. 129 deaths are reported (none in the day), two evacuated, 108 discharges of the day, 6 thousand 502 recovered patients (90.5%) and six patients in intensive care are accumulated, of them four critical and two serious.

Until November 4, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 47 million 594 thousand 343 (+501 thousand 56) and 1 million 215 thousand 892 deaths (+8 thousand 602) for a fatality of 2 , 55 (-0.01).

In the region of the Americas, 21 million 76 thousand 472 confirmed cases (+141 thousand 432) are reported, 44.28% of the total cases reported in the world, with 648 thousand 691 deaths (+2 thousand 653) for a fatality 3.08% (-0.01).
