Havana: Cuba confirmed 44 new cases of Covid-19 and one death at midnight yesterday, November 5, according to reports from the website of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap).
The country accumulates 891 thousand 877 samples carried out and 7 thousand 228 positive samples (0.82%), since the beginning of the pandemic in Cuba on March 11.
Of the 44 positives, 33 are Cubans and 11 are imported. Twenty five were contacts of confirmed cases and with contagion abroad 17 and 2 without specified source of infection.
Of the total positive cases, 23 are women and 21 are men. The 43,1 % of the positive cases (19) were asymptomatic.
The cases belong to Pinar del Río 23, Habana 3, Sancti Spíritus 4, Ciego de Ávila 11, Camaguey 3.
In the country, 554 patients remain admitted, of them, 550 with stable clinical evolution, three are in critical condition and one serious. There were 40 medical discharges, bringing the total to 6,542 recovered patients.
Until November 5, 185 countries with cases of COVID-19 are reported, amounting to 48 million 171 thousand 603 confirmed cases (+ 577 thousand 260) and 1 million 226 thousand 241 deaths (+ 10 thousand 349) for a fatality of 2, 54 (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas region, 21 million 239 thousand 715 confirmed cases (+ 163 thousand 243) are reported, 44.09% of the total cases reported in the world, with 651 thousand 901 deaths (+ 3 thousand 210) for a fatality of 3.07% (-0.01).
