Mayabeque, Cuba: The Secretary General of the Cuban Women Federation, Teresa Amarelle, presented the 60th Anniversary Medal to 15 outstanding women in the confrontation with Covid19 at the National Center for Biopreparations (BIOCEN), located in Bejucal.
The top leader of the women’s organization in the country conveyed the respect and admiration of all the people for the important work of these federated women in confronting the pandemic.
At the meeting, the honorees recounted their experiences during the development of the first means of transport for viruses obtained in Cuba for the collection and transfer of clinical nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal samples from patients for the diagnosis of SARS-COV-2, the causal agent of the COVID-19.
They also contributed to the treatment of the disease from obtaining the biological immunomodulator of natural origin, Biomodulin T, used basically in the treatment of respiratory infections. This product with proven prophylactic function was introduced in the fight against COVID-19 by being a modulator of the immune system.
