Mayabeque, Cuba: The computerization of society in Cuba has among its purposes to promote technologies in order to improve communications and the development of the nation.
In the midst of these challenges, e-government and commerce play a key role.
The massive use of the transfermóvil app is one of the advances in this platform where more than a million users are registered in the country carrying out several monthly operations.
The payment of public services such as electricity, telephony, bank transfers between users, sending money through money orders are facilities provided by the service.
The Communications Specialist of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA), in Mayabeque, Pedro Cotilla, highlights that despite the economic limitations due to Covid-19 and the global crisis, our province reports important advances in 2020 when computerization is all about.
Through telecommunications agents, an initiative of the sector, they brought services to the population to sell cards, collect bills, recharge mobile phones and nauta accounts.
One of the great missions in recent times, added the communications specialist, is to guarantee connectivity to the state and business sectors, educational centers especially in universities, the Young Computer Club and Scientific Poles, which also shows its positive results.
Regarding the 4G connection, Pedro Cotilla refers that today they work intensely; the municipal seats of San José de Las Pajas, Güines, Santa Cruz del Norte, Batabanó, Nueva Paz and San Nicolás have this service. For the first quarter of 2021 they expect to benefit all the municipalities of Mayabeque.
“The computerization of society is a priority issue for the Ministry of Communications in Cuba, in this sense we must continue to advance,” concluded the Communications Specialist of the Cuban Telecommunications Company.
