Mayabeque, Cuba: Mayabeque registers 87 samples positive for Covid-19, according to the official website of the Ministry of Public Health (MINSAP).
Among those infected are 12 without a specified source of infection, all are autochthonous, contacts of confirmed cases.
The municipality of San José de las Lajas is the one with the worst epidemiological situation with 22 new people infected with the virus, followed by Quivicán with 16, Madruga with 12 and Güines with 10.
The rest of the municipalities also report positive cases, with the exception of Santa Cruz del Norte. Nueva Paz 9, San Nicolás 7, Bejucal 5, Melena del Sur 4 and Jaruco 2.
As reported by the national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap), Dr. Francisco Durán García, in his usual press conference, from the province of Mayabeque two people are admitted, in serious condition:
• 78-year-old Cuban citizen from Madruga. Personal Pathological Antecedents: Arterial Hypertension. He is in the Intermediate Care Unit, afebrile, on spontaneous ventilation with supplemental oxygen. Hemodynamically stable. Reported serious.
• 6-month-old Cuban citizen from Batabanó. She is in the Intensive Care Unit, afebrile, with clinical improvement, discrete polypnea, spontaneously ventilating. Hemodynamically stable. Blood gas within acceptable parameters. Chest X-ray. Radiological improvement. Diffuse inflammatory lesions in the left hemithorax. Reported serious.
While reported as severelly ill remains an 81-year-old Cuban citizen from Melena del Sur with personal pathological history of Arterial Hypertension. She is in Intensive Care, afebrile, sedated, on mechanical ventilation, with severe respiratory distress. Hemodynamically unstable, supported with amines. Better diuretic rhythm. Torax X ray. Radiological worsening without changes. Inflammatory lesions of the lower two thirds of both hemithorax. Reported of unstable criticism.
Yesterday the province mourned the death of a 72-year-old Cuban citizen who lived in the Bejucal municipality. He presented among his personal pathological antecedents of Arterial Hypertension, Chronic Kidney Disease and Protein-Calorie Malnutrition. He had an eight hour hospital stay.
