Havana: Cuba reported this Wednesday 961 new cases with Covid-19 and two deaths in the last 24 hours due to complications associated with this disease, Radio Habana Cuba reports.
The total number of confirmed cases since March of last year amounts to 82,601 and 442 deaths, according to Dr. Francisco Durán, national director of Epidemiology.
The specialist from the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) added that 5,220 patients remain hospitalized with the active virus.
The day before, 20,127 diagnostic tests were studied throughout the national territory to detect the presence of the virus, which brings the total number of samples taken since the beginning of this pandemic here in March of last year to 3,129,144.

Of the 82 thousand 601 patients diagnosed with the disease, 5 thousand 220 remain hospitalized, of them 5 thousand 143 with stable clinical evolution. There are 442 deaths (two in the day), two evacuees, 54 returned to their countries, there were 1012 discharges on the day, 76 thousand 883 recovered patients accumulate (93.1%). 77 confirmed patients are cared for in intensive care, 33 of them critical and 44 seriously ill.
Until April 6, 190 countries and 29 territories with cases of COVID-19 are reported, it amounts to 132 million 809 thousand 691 confirmed cases (+ 612 thousand 874) with 22 million 903 thousand 938 active cases and 2 million 879 thousand 124 deaths (+ 9 thousand 735) for a fatality of 2.17 (=).
In the region of the Americas, 57 million 929 thousand 820 confirmed cases (+ 190 thousand 89) are reported, 43.61% of the total cases reported in the world, with 9 million 143 thousand 800 active cases and 1 million 393 thousand 378 deaths (+ 3,625) for a fatality of 2.41 (=).
