Havana,Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Tuesday eight deaths and 1,537 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for an accumulated of 160 thousand 594 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 30,834 patients were admitted, of them 5,718 suspects, 17,698 in epidemiological surveillance and 7,418 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country carried out 19 thousand 862 samples for a cumulative of 4 million 657 thousand 880 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 1,537 patients, 543 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 1,432 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 48 have a source of infection abroad and in 57 people the source of contagion is unknown and one thousand 489 are natives.
Of the total confirmed, 739 are male and 762 female. Regarding the age groups, 263 children under 19 years of age, 14 under one year of age, were diagnosed. There are 1,090 hospitalized assets. In the ages of 19 to 39 years, 493 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years about 506 cases and 275 people older than 60 years.
