The weather behaves mild in June.

Mayabeque, Cuba: With more than 10,000 hectares planted with several crops, the spring season is underway in the province, a stage that began on March 1 and lasts until August 31.

According to the report of journalist Alberto Gutiérrez Walón, from the Mayabeque newspaper, all productive forms that face material limitations as a result of the blockade of the United States government against the country intervene in the stage, according to Eduardo Alonso Rivero, state deputy director of agriculture in the territory.

Short-cycle crops such as sweet potatoes and corn are given priority in order to obtain productions in a short time. The plans for viands, vegetables, grains and fruits also show favorable results at the end of May.

The land left by the potato harvest and its humidity due to the rains that arrived in June, are used by farmers, Alonso Rivero said.

Despite the difficulties with spare parts, today around 140 irrigation machines are working thanks to the ingenuity of operators and other specialists who seek solutions to more than one technical limitation in the open field.
