Mayabeque, Cuba: Ninety-five reasons and more have the young people of this province to honor Fidel, the historical leader of the Revolution, on the 95th anniversary of his birth.
The date of August 13 acquires particular relevance this year when that sector of the population reaffirms its leading role in the battles that the country is waging today.
The First Secretary of the Young Communists League in Mayabeque, Arianna Pavón Guerrero, speaks of the activities planned in the province to honor the Commander in Chief: “We have many activities that are linked to history, the dialogues of generations, the tours, the ascents to the highest points of the province, the bicycles that allow the practice of exercise in the open air, with due isolation, complying with all the epidemiological measures imposed by the pandemic”.
At another point in her statements, Pavón Guerrero added: “Wednesday next week we will be with a group of young people from the Revolutionary Armed Forces (FAR) and the Ministry of the Interior (MININT), in that sacred place for the people of Mayabeque that is the Santa Elena Farm, precursor of the Moncada’s actions”.
Action in the communities is a priority, thus fulfilling the call of the top leadership of the Revolution to strengthen the bond with the people and attend to their needs, “we have been creating youth social work brigades in all the municipalities of the province, with the objective to reach the most vulnerable areas, to 21 of those settlements we have already arrived with our message of humanism, of joy, with that “intervention” of love, a word that has been so manipulated these days, added the First Secretary of the UJC in Mayabeque.
Later, she stated: however, a few hours ago social workers arrived in those areas to intervene in love, out of optimism that only in revolution can we have a solution to many of the problems that the people of Cuba face today and that youth as the protagonist will be on the front line”.
August passes with a marked participation of the youth in the fight against Covid-19 and in food production.
Fidel’s example inspires and commits because 95 years after his birth, he continues to be a paradigm of Cuban youth.
