Havana: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported 76 deaths on Wednesday and 8,605 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated 483 thousand 710 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 96 thousand 632 patients were admitted, of them 47 thousand 023 suspects, 4 thousand 226 in epidemiological surveillance and 45 thousand 283 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 37,405 samples the day before for a cumulative 6,974,120 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 8,605 patients, 419 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 8,554 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 28 have a source of infection abroad and in 23 people the source contagion is unknown and 8,577 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 4 thousand 8 are male and 4 thousand 597 female. Regarding the age groups, a thousand 644 children under 19 years of age were diagnosed, and a thousand 543 were diagnosed in pediatric ages (114 under one year of age). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 2,430 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years 2 thousand 801 cases and 1,730 people older than 60 years.
