Mayabeque, Cuba: With inventive solutions, the repairs of the Boris Luis Santa Coloma plant, located in the municipality of Madruga, began with the aim of complying with the sugar production plan for the 2021-2022 harvest.
The Head of Repair and Maintenance, Sonia Montes de Oca Ortega, specifies that they started in the industrial areas with the greatest incidents during the previous campaign, “they are the steam generation, mill and machine shop.”
The agribusiness processes the cane of Basic Units of Cooperative Production (UBPC), Cooperatives of Agricultural Production (CPA) and Credit and Services (CCS), located in the northeast productive pole of the province.
The reparations stage runs from August to December, amidst limitations imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade of the United States government against Cuba.
At another point in her statements, Montes de Oca Ortega added: “We have planned the repairs in 19 stages, in the month of October we must be at 90 percent of the planning with an exercise and the test.”
