Mayabeque, Cuba: The Committees for the Defense of the Revolution (CDR) of the municipality of Quivicán remain active in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic. After the autochthonous transmission phase was decreed, this organization directly affects the most affected popular councils.
“We carry out direct work with isolated people, we distribute our staff to the different risk areas, we carry out inquiries and visits with the doctors, providing help in the delivery of both medicine and food,” the coordinator of the CDR in the locality, Veneidy Romero Matos, said.
New groups were formed to monitor and control the flow of people after hours, as well as a call for attention so that vulnerable citizens are not out of their homes.
In addition, the doctors in the offices explain the new health protocol so that isolated patients at home know the measures and the procedure to follow.
Controlling the existing situation in Quivicán in a harmonized way is a priority for all its inhabitants. The increase in infections speaks for itself, that is why the largest mass organization in Cuba responds boldly in the confrontation with Covid-19.
