Havana, Cuba: Cuba reported this Wednesday 5,617 new people with Covid-19 and 48 deaths due to complications from the disease, the lowest number of deaths in the last two months, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
In the usual press conference, Dr. Francisco Durán García, director of the Epidemiology department of the Ministry of Public Health (Minsap) explained that at the end of Tuesday 43,062 PCR samples were processed throughout the country, accumulating 9,509,303 studies carried out.
He pointed out that since the beginning of the pandemic in the country since March 2020, 872 425 (9, 2%) people have tested positive for the coronavirus.
In the same way, he pointed out that 68,436 people remain admitted, 34,686 suspects, 2,764 under surveillance and 30,986 actively.
As for the deceased, he detailed that they belong to the provinces of: Pinar del Río (6), Las Tunas (6), Artemisa (5), Villa Clara (5), Holguín (5), Santiago de Cuba (4), La Habana (3), Mayabeque (2), Camaguey (2), Guantánamo (2) and Cienfuegos (2).
In this sense, 7378 people have died since the beginning of the pandemic for a lethality of 0.85%.
Of the 5 617 confirmed cases, 5 588 are autochthonous and 29 imported, while 5 575 (99.3%) were contacts of confirmed cases, a total of 860 835 (98.7%) and 29 (0.5%) with a source of infection abroad. They accumulate 11 562 (1.3%).
Similarly, he pointed out that in 13 people the source of infection could not be determined. Of the total confirmed patients, 4.2% were asymptomatic. Meanwhile, 2,978 are female and 2,639 male.
1149 people under 20 years of age were diagnosed, of them 1087 in pediatric ages. The other confirmed patients belong to the age groups: 20-39 years: 1356, 40-59 years: 1782 and 60 years and over: 1330
The 29 imported cases belong to the provinces: Pinar del Río (6), Artemisa (3), Havana (6), Matanzas (4), Villa Clara (3), Sancti Spíritus (1), Camagüey (4) and Santiago from Cuba (2).
The 5588 autochthonous cases belong to the provinces:
Pinar del Rio (1193), Artemisa(283), Havana (370), Mayabeque (138), Matanzas (76), Cienfuegos (99), Villa Clara (548), Sancti Spíritus (515), Ciego de Avila (114), Camaguey (886), Las Tunas (372), Holguin (334), Granma (328), Santiago de Cuba (198), Guantanamo (134).
The incidence rate in Cuba is 995.3 with Pinar del Río, Sancti Spíritus, Camagüey, Las Tunas, Artemisa and Villa Clara with the highest indicators.
There are 30 565 stable patients, two evacuees, 7277 medical discharges, 834 004 people recovered since the start of the pandemic. Meanwhile, 123 people are in critical condition and 298 serious.
