Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Thursday 58 deaths and 5 thousand 3 samples positive for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated of 877 thousand 428 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 65,295 patients were admitted, of them 33,634 suspects, 2,854 in epidemiological surveillance and 28,807 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 46,821 samples the day before for a cumulative 9,556,124 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 5 thousand 3 patients, 139 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 4 thousand 989 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 8 have a source of infection abroad and in 6 people the source of contagion is unknown, 4 thousand 995 are autochthonous.
Of the total confirmed, 2,351 are male and 2,652 female. Regarding the age groups, 1,66 were diagnosed under 18 years of age, and 1,09 in pediatric ages (77 under one year). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 1,213 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years, 1,561 cases and 1,163 people older than 60 years.
He specified that, of the 877 thousand 428 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 28 thousand 807 of them remain confirmed, 28 thousand 406 with stable clinical evolution. 7,436 deaths are reported (58 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.85. The two evacuees remain, 55 returnees and 841,128 recovered patients accumulate (7,124 discharges of the day). 105 critically ill patients and 296 critically ill patients are reported.
