Havana, Cuba: The national director of Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán, reported this Friday 50 deaths and 5 thousand 49 positive samples for Covid-19 during the last 24 hours, for a accumulated of 882 thousand 477 diagnoses since the beginning of the disease in the nation, Radio Habana Cuba publishes.
During his usual press conference, the specialist reported that at midnight yesterday 32,165 patients were admitted, of them 32,280 suspects, 2,727 in epidemiological surveillance and 27,158 confirmed assets.
Durán explained that the country analyzed 47,131 samples the day before for a cumulative 9,603,255 samples analyzed.
The epidemiologist announced that, of the 5 thousand 49 patients, 193 were asymptomatic at the time of diagnosis, 5 thousand 49 have a source of infection in previously confirmed cases, 21 have a source of infection abroad and in 3 people the source of contagion is unknown and 5 thousand 28 were autochthonous.
Regarding the age groups, a thousand 15 children under 18 years of age were diagnosed, and 959 in pediatric ages (29 under six months). In the ages of 20 to 39 years, 1,230 cases were confirmed, between 40 and 59 years, 1,594 cases, and 1,120 people over 60 years of age.
He specified that of the 882 thousand 477 patients diagnosed with the disease since the beginning of it, 27 thousand 158 of them remain confirmed, 26 thousand 784 with stable clinical evolution. 7 thousand 486 deaths are reported (50 in the last day) for a fatality of 0.85.
