Mayabeque, Cuba: Workers from the Center for Hygiene and Epidemiology together with the Base Business Unit of Community and Hydrology in Batabanó, carry out an intense offensive against the Aedes Aegypti mosquito during these days.
A priority in the territory to combat the reproduction of the mosquito is to increase the work of sanitation and solid waste collection in addition to eliminating the micro-dumps and leaks in the blocks where there are repetitive outbreaks.
Every day the authorities evaluate the epidemiological situation with a view to controlling the focal point and incorporate vector operators into the campaign and thus carry out a rigorous inspection of houses, work centers and students and proceed with fumigation in the most affected areas by the vector for three consecutive days and the abatement of the tanks with water.
Each citizen has the responsibility to examine his home to guarantee control and face diseases and the best way to combat them is to reinforce hygienic measures, surveillance and anti-vector control as the most effective of the rules to avoid an epidemic.
