Havana Club rum made in Mayabeque obtains new international awards.

Mayabeque, Cuba: Havana Club rum, made in Mayabeque, won 12 medals in The Spirits Business and Drinks Business Autumn Tasting, a competition that recognized the best quality spirits internationally, Cubasí reports.

The Travel Trade Caribbean website reported that three expert panels through blind tasting, organized by The Spirits Business and Drinks Business magazines, analyzed brands and spirits products from around the world, from the most traditional to recent innovations.

To the approval of the Havana Club brand, its 2021 Tribute was crowned Master in the Gold Rum category, while the Añejo Especial won the gold medal of the contest.

In white rums, the Añejo 3 years won the Gold medal, while the silver was for two of the most recent innovations of the Cuban rum brand: the Professional Edition D and Green.

Among the dark rums tasted, Havana Club won six of the seven gold medals awarded by the jury, the traditional 7 Years and Selección de Maestros, along with others recently added, such as Cuban Smoky, Cuban Spiced and the professional A and B editions, while the C obtained silver in the same section.

Recently the outstanding participation of Havana Club in the China Wine and Spirits Awards 2021 was also known, considered one of the most influential competitions in the world, and in which it was crowned with four medals.

Such results, said the note, once again demonstrate Havana Club’s leadership in the category of Super Premium and Superior rums, and its intention to innovate to remain the authentic rum of Cuba.

Havana Club is the third international rum brand worldwide, despite not having access to the United States market, with more than four million nine-liter cases sold in the last year.
