Mayabeque, Cuba: Peasants from Mayabeque exchanged with members of the National Bureau of the Association of Small Farmers (ANAP), with the purpose of knowing the main concerns and disposition to increase yields, contribute more to the country’s economy and the revival of rural communities.
At La Torre farm of the Cooperative of Credits and Services (CCS) Porfirio Álvarez, from the municipality of Güines, they spoke with outstanding producers, who ratified their commitment to defend the conquests of the Revolution.
In the same way, in the Manuel Fajardo CCS in the El Cangre community, peasants expressed that due to the lack of resources at the country level, they contribute food to the Home for the Elderly, the Mixed Center, the Polyclinic and units of services to the population.
They analyzed about the diversification of productions, the use of agro-ecology and the situation with the supply of water to the plantations.
In addition, the sale of meat and milk, access to the Mariel Development Zone, the price of sugarcane in the mills, contracting, soil preparation and the use of biological means, were other issues highlighted in the meeting.
The member of the National Committee of ANAP, Yamila Sarduy Martínez, said that in the face of the enemy siege this sector supports the Revolution and its main tasks.
She highlighted the active participation of grassroots organizations in the economic development of the territory, the diversification of crops and training producers in legal and contracting issues.
She added that this avant-garde movement today is committed to increasing the production of high-demand food and implementing alternatives to comply with the 63 measures directed by the country’s top leadership.
