Inclusion and legal protection are the essences that define the Families Code Project that will be analyzed for approval by the deputies to the Cuban Parliament in the next ordinary session of the National Assembly of People’s Power this month.
It is the preamble to the popular consultation and the entire process will culminate in the referendum, where it will be decided by vote whether or not the revolutionary legal text is approved.
There are controversial points in this project, one of them associated with marriage and the intention of the legislators to provide legal protection to all the families that live among us today.
It is not about tolerance but about inclusion, recognition and legal support for all forms of loving and forming families, a right that does not harm in the least that of others.
It is a neuralgic point, there are divided criteria, some supported by prejudices and discriminatory manifestations that lacerate the concept of equality and social justice that our socialist process defends as a reflection of the reality of the nation, shows that good sense and the worship of full dignity of man prevail among the majority of this people who love harmony and justice.
