Mayabeque, Cuba: After the harvest, the colorful habanero pepper fruits are checked and cleaned manually by a group of workers from the covered houses, belonging to the agricultural company of the Melena del Sur municipality.

These are classified under the careful supervision of the quality control technician, Asdrubal Valero Toral, and the director of technology and development, Alien Arocha Torres, who guarantee the excellence of the fruit.

This product meets all the quality standards set by both the exporter and the client and is very well accepted. Its quality places it in the first line, neither fertilizer nor fumigation is applied and the sanitary control is constant.

The quality is guaranteed from the field and until now it is achieved. That is why we plan to comply with the plan of three tons, proposed for this year. This result will allow us, with the export of the fruit, to obtain the capital that the company needs,” Arocha Torres added.

After meticulous work, one by one, the peppers are placed in boxes ready for export by air, which is done manually, an operation marked by the sense of belonging and the desire to contribute to the country’s economy, in in the midst of the enormous difficulties of the moment.
