Mayabeque, Cuba: New ways of raising rabbits in Cuba will be promoted during the seventh American Rabbit Breeding Congress, to be held at the 2022 International Convention on Animal Production and Agro-development in the province of Matanzas.
The program of the event, sponsored by the Institute of Animal Science, located in Mayabeque, includes topics on the use of skins, genetics, alternatives in the absence of imported production inputs, advantages awarded to this type of small livestock to contribute to sovereignty food, and how to stimulate the consumption of this meat to promote import substitution.
The conclave will contribute to the development of rabbit farming in Cuba and the Americas, mainly in the tropical region, based on the exchange of experiences among the participants in the international event.
