Mayabeque, Cuba: Suilén Pérez, Leisy Guerrero and Yannelis Acosta, from Mayabeque, managed to get on the award podium at the 2022 National Women’s Wrestling Championship, recently concluded in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
The balance of medals for the youngest province was two gold medals and one bronze.
Suilén Pérez defended the 52-kilogram division, Leisy Guerrero defended the 59-kilogram division and won the gold medal, while Yannelis Acosta won the 65-kilogram bronze.
The teams from Granma, the capital and Santiago dominated the 2022 National Junior Women’s Wrestling Championship in that order.
The representatives of Granma added four crowns through Yaliannis Cortés, in the 40 kilograms, Ingris Cintra, in the 43, Dianelis Felis, in the 60, and Danlis González, in the 65.
The Havana delegation celebrated the crown of Roxana de la Caridad in the 46 kilos, while Santiago de Cuba saw Leivis Marion stand up in the 49.
From this Friday the events begin in the Greco-Roman and free styles.
