Havana: At midnight yesterday, August 25, 1,010 patients were admitted to hospitals for clinical epidemiological surveillance, of them: 25 under surveillance, 479 suspects and 506 confirmed, according to the information given by the National Director of Hygiene and Epidemiology of the Ministry of Public Health of Cuba, Dr. Francisco Durán García, in a press conference, Cubadebate reports.
For COVID-19, 3,056 samples were studied, resulting in 15 positive samples. The country accumulates 372,945 samples carried out and 3,759 positive (1.01%).
Of the 15 diagnosed cases: 14 are Cuban and 1 foreigner, 14 were contacts of confirmed cases and in 1 (7.1%) the source of infection is not specified. Of the 15 confirmed cases, 8 (53.3%) are male and 7 (46.7%) are female. The 73.3% (11) were asymptomatic, accumulating 2,161, representing 57.4% of those confirmed to date.

Of the 3 thousand 759 patients diagnosed with the disease, 506 (13.4%), 490, 97% with stable clinical evolution remain confirmed. 92 deaths are reported (1 in the day), two evacuated, 57 discharges of the day, 3,159 recovered patients accumulate (84.0%), three critical and 13 serious.
Until August 25, 185 countries with COVID-19 cases are reported, the confirmed cases amount to 23 million 673 thousand 902 (+ 232 thousand 321) and 813 thousand 944 deaths (+ 4 thousand 522) for a fatality of 3.44 (-0.01).
In the region of the Americas, 12 million 652 thousand 851 confirmed cases are reported (+ 99 thousand 284), 53.45 of the total cases reported in the world, with 447 thousand 538 deaths (+ 2 thousand 606) for a fatality of 3.54.
