Mayabeque, Cuba: The production of agricultural food in the peasant sector has been affected in Batabanó with the intensification of the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States government against Cuba.

The acquisition of inputs to develop agriculture, such as fertilizers, fertilizers, fungicides, herbicides that are imported into our country, represents one of the biggest problems that affect crop yields, including limitations on the purchase of fuel.

In La Luisa farm, a national reference in urban and suburban agriculture, belonging to the Ciro Redondo Credit and Services Cooperative (CCS) in Batabanó, the producer Pedro Romero Estévez links agroecology, innovation and science and technique to obtain positive results in their harvests, and the use of biological means, one of the many alternatives given the scarcity of inputs to work the land.

Once again our peasants with great ingenuity overcome the barriers of the blockade and produce food, despite being one of the sectors most affected by the cruel measures of the United States against Cuba.
