Buenos Aires: The Argentine president, Alberto Fernández, and his Bolivian counterpart, Luis Arce, confirmed their virtual attendance at the VII meeting of the Puebla Group, to be held in Mexico next week.

As published by Radio Habana Cuba, the alliance of which progressive leaders from 16 countries are part will once again hold its summit face to face from November 29 to December 1 to present a proposal for a Development Solidarity Model for Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe.

The two leaders, who are part of the Group, will be at the meeting remotely as well as other guests such as the former president of Brazil and leader of the Workers’ Party, Lula da Silva, who will send a video greeting the space for articulation and debate of which he is the founder since its inception in the city of Puebla in 2019.

In total, there will be 150 progressive leaders from 20 countries that will participate in this edition of the event, to which the former presidents Ernesto Samper, from Colombia, Dilma Rousseff, from Brazil, Rafael Correa, from Ecuador and José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero from Spain confirmed their participation.

There will also be the Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean, Alicia Bárcena, and other political personalities such as the Secretary of Foreign Relations of Mexico, Marcelo Ebrard and the former presidential candidate.

After meeting for several months in virtual meetings, the Group will finally meet again to draw up strategies and present a proposal for a Solidarity Model of Development for Latin America, the Caribbean and Europe in this new meeting.
