Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin today lamented Ukraine’s slowness in negotiations with the authorities of this country, the head of the Kremlin press office, Dmitri Peskov, reported today, Prensa Latina publishes.

The senior official explained that there was a meeting of the Russian Security Council during which the negotiation process with Kyiv was discussed in detail and attention was drawn to the delay in the response of the Ukrainian side.

The Russian authorities have explained that the conditions demanded by Moscow for the end of hostilities are in the hands of the Ukrainian negotiators.

They include the demilitarization and denazification of Ukraine, the cessation of its military actions, establishing its neutral status in the Constitution, recognizing Crimea as part of Russia, as well as the independence of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Peskov said that during the meeting, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu reported on the progress of the operation in Ukraine and the efforts to provide assistance to the population, guarantee their security and restore vital infrastructure in the territories under his control.

Russia began a military operation in Ukraine on February 24, after the authorities of the self-proclaimed People’s Republics of Donetsk and Lugansk requested help to repel the increase in aggression from kyiv.

Previously, Moscow recognized the independence and sovereignty of both territories and signed treaties of friendship, cooperation and mutual assistance with their leaders, which included the establishment of diplomatic relations and military aid.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, in a speech to inform about the start of the operation, stated that the objective is to protect the population of Donbass from the abuses and genocide of Kyiv during the last eight years, in addition to “demilitarizing” and ?denazify? Ukraine.

According to the Ministry of Defense of this country, the attacks are not directed at the population or at the Ukrainian cities, but against their objectives and military infrastructures.
