Mayabeque, Cuba: The municipalities of Melena del Sur and Quivicán, in Mayabeque, will be recognized among the national vanguard territories, in the context of the celebration for the 60th anniversary of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution.
As part of the tribute to the largest mass organization in the country, several institutions and outstanding people in the operation of grassroots structures will be honored with the Barrio Prize.
They will also deliver the medal for the Defense of the Homeland and the Unity of the Neighborhood, and the distinctions and flags September 28.
The members of the CDRs in the province participate in voluntary work in productive areas to contribute to the national economy and will carry out exchanges between different generations.
The head of the ideological department in the provincial coordination, Yamisleydis Machado González, says that they will also deliver the Neighborhood Award to the Blas Roca Calderío Rural Primary School located in Jaruco and the Casa de la Décima de Mayabeque, located in Güines. They will also entertain congratulate Public Health collaborators and founders of the Mirando al Mar detachments.
This year the commemoration of the six decades of the largest mass organization in the country has an exceptional connotation. This was stated by the coordinator of the municipality of Güines, Maylin Varona Muñoz, who added that they will commemorate the event through the beautification of the blocks.
