Mayabeque, Cuba: The commemorative program for the 60th anniversary of the National Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba (UNEAC), in Mayabeque, promotes aesthetic and ethical values in creation, as well as in the realization of different proposals in tune with politics culture of the country.
The president of the UNEAC in the province, Juan Carlos García Guridi, highlights the work of the visual artist, Juan de La Torre, of Alexis Álvarez, the only Cuban nominated for the Platinum Prize awarded by the International Film Academy, and of the renowned musician Guillermo Antonio Pedroso.
In this context, due to the celebration of the six decades of UNEAC, the subsidiaries in the demarcation carry out activities such as the Peña del Coro and the Guardilla.
The UNEAC works together with the Montecallado Publishing House, the José Martí Cultural Society and the Provincial Directorate of Culture.
