Mayabeque, Cuba: This year, the Social Assistance benefited 91 families in Jaruco with the free delivery of basic material resources, despite the complex economic and financial situation the country is facing.
These families received mattresses, beds, sheets, towels, backpacks and face masks made in the municipality’s own textile workshops, essential to avoid the spread of the coronavirus, among other basic items.
The exceptional aid, protected by Agreement 7384, of the Council of Ministers of Cuba in 2013, which helps the nuclei in critical socio-economic situation, also favored 18 children included in Victoria Task, conceived to protect the children of inmates.
According to the Manager of Social Assistance in the Municipal Directorate of Work, Prevention and Social Assistance, of Jaruco, Yandy Rivera Hernández, the aid was supported by more than 134 thousand pesos assigned in 2020 to the activity.
